  • Birthdays and Food

Some people are complaining that I have nice photos of food but I never share.. so ok lah, I share I share. :P

On Friday we treated Ek Guan to dinner at Capri cos it was his birthday. Capri offers 10% discount to IMU students btw so please bring your ID when you go. You can order the fried rice if you want to profess your love for someone cos it comes in...

    A heart shape! <3 <3

Then what I like most about Capri is the durian pancake! YUM YUM I love it so. But it's kinda expensive la. RM 6 for just two pieces. If not I sure tapau a lot and keep in the fridge and eat it to keep me happy. Never mind, next time can try to make my own. Just scrape the durian flesh out from the durian into a flat container and top it with a thick layer of cream. Durian to cream approx 1:1 ratio. No need to make the skin cos I don't know what it's made of anyway and it's not the yummy part. Chill it (very important) then can eat straight out of the container! AHH SO YUMMY!

Today after church we went to One Love Cafe in Bandar Puteri to celebrate Lynda and Diana's birthday. It took us about one hour to get there cos we got lost along the way. Then hor, the service is super slow... Took another hour for the food to arrive. By that time it was already 3pm so we had a really really late lunch and I think I don't have to eat dinner already.

But the food was not bad lah. Hehe. And I love the walnut cheesecake! So yummy! I love cheesecake! <3

My food! Grilled chicken! It's ok lah. Tastes normal. Grilled chicken is grilled chicken.

    IMG_1493
This is... I dunno what. Some kind of chicken.

    Lynda's sizzling lamb!

    IMG_1496
Cindy's appetizer which is also her lunch but I don't know what's the name also.

The walnut cheesecake which was also the birthday cake. YUM

    IMG_1528
Banana chocolate cake which came with the set some of them ordered. I didn't try but they say it's quite sweet.

Ok so that's all the photos of food I have for this week. Next time post more okay? Bye bye!

  • Blogging from KLIA-LCCT

I'm at the airport now cos my flight was delayed from 7.40pm to 9.15pm. Or so they say, because at 8.35pm when everyone was queuing up to board the plane, they suddenly announced that the plane will only arrive at 8.50pm and they will inform us of further developments. It's now 8.55pm and the gates haven't opened. I'm guessing we will depart at something like 10pm.

I'm glad to be going home even though this Raya break is really short because what's more precious than spending time with my beloved family? Jon has finished his UPSR and he should be pretty free now so I can bring him out for snow ice and maybe go jalan-jalan and see bookstores. I'm not sure if Jovi still has school, but she should have at least two days of Raya holiday. Yay. But besides that I brought my entire set of Endocrine notes home including the chapters I photocopied from the Greenspan Endocrine book with a determination to read through the notes at least once, with comprehension of course. Think I can do it? :P I must, since I've aimed to do so.

Right, the annoucement is being made, and we can board the plane, finally! Have a good raya break, everyone.

  • Blogging is back :)

    Note my title. :)

I've been thinking that since I have a blog, I have the responsibility to update it (at least) every once in a while. Otherwise, I might as well just delete it right?

Haha so we're four weeks into Semester 4 and entering our fifth week. Endocrine system is over and tomorrow we're beginning our lectures on the reproductive system. That's pretty fast, if you ask me. I feel like I haven't learned anything worth mentioning in the past four weeks. Not that endocrinology is such a worthless subject, if that was the impression given by the previous statement, but that I haven't put in enough effort in learning what I ought to have learned. Read a bit of Guyton, Greenspan... The topics we had for PBL, I did research on thoroughly, though. Thank God for PBL. I guess PBL works for me in that we get to discuss cases immediately after we've read up about them, so the details stick easier in my unreliable memory.

The ME208 batch is in and Yvonne's sister, Diana is among them. I ran into her and her parents the first day Diana moved into Vista. She stays just three floors above me. :) Regrettably though, I haven't met up with Yvonne in Vista even though she was here twice already. The first time she called me (at about 1pm, I think) about wanting to come over, I was still asleep (gives you a rough idea what my bedtime is eh). So I told her to wait 10 minutes for me to wash up but she had to go out with her family then so that was that. A few hours later though, I ran into her at Carrefour. We chatted for a few minutes then she had to go. The second time she came over to Vista, she called just when I was about to go to church. So yeah, we haven't had a proper meet-up... but I'm sure there will be many more chances to come. :)

Speaking of meet-ups, Geri and Junming are coming over to KL the weekend after next and I'm pretty excited about meeting up with them. Geri will be staying over, so it'll be really really great... I had wondered if I'd get to see her anytime again this year after Taman Negara, and here comes the opportunity. :) Thank God for this 2.5 years I can still remain in this Malaysia-Singapore region! With IMU comes the privilege of going back to Kuching a few times a year (especially when AirAsia and MAS keep having promotions) and the privilege of going down conveniently to Singapore if I want to visit old friends. After June next year it'll be a different story, though. I do not know where I'm going, but I do pray that it won't be one with the more expensive fees or the higher costs of living. I'm trusting in God though that wherever it is, that's where it will be.

Other than that, there's Freshies' party coming up tomorrow morning, and in 20 minutes time I'll be at Marissa's place praying with the others for God's hand to be upon this gathering. Priscilla and Edwina have put in a lot of effort in coordinating the whole thing, and done a great job at that too. Not forgetting Marissa who did the booklet wonderfully (yes, including the alignment, hehe). We're hoping the juniors will be blessed... Doesn't really matter if few people come; these are the ones God will bring and we will thank God for them. (And we will have more food left over for ourselves.. haha no I'm just kidding. :P)

Then... yeah I'll be back in Kuching during Hari Raya so whoever will be back then, we could arrange a meet up. Can't wait to see Jon and Jov again. No exams this semester until November but that's no reason at all to be slacking. Ok time to go, see ya!

  • After GI-Hemato and before EOS3

Haven't updated for some time (again)..

Was at Taman Negara last weekend. It was beautiful :) Thank God for a wonderful time of fellowship, enjoying nature, and getting to know new friends.

Mist descending upon the hills in front of Nusa Holiday Village.

Then was at Gombak Hospital for our hospital posting the past week.. I managed to nod off while Dr Sasi was briefing us on a case even though I was sitting right next to her in the conference room.. Haha.. Then kena caught by Cindy, Ding Yang and Daniel who kept laughing at me. Sigh, I was really trying very very hard to stay awake. The highlight of the posting was definitely the surprise trek into the jungle to take a look at the Orang Asli's water source.. this time there were no bridges or well trodden out footpaths (unlike Taman Negara) cos it wasn't exactly a tourism destination.. so I managed to happily slip into the river a few times.. thank God I only wet half my body.. Then after we got back to IMU we went straight to feedback session with all our shoes wet and squishy.. it was gross.. but a pretty worthwhile experience.

Simran and Ying Xuan.. donno what they doing. :P

Now I'm having study break for four weeks until EOS3 on June 23.. it isn't that far away from now.. definitely not easy to study four systems in four weeks, especially when I haven't thoroughly studied everything throughout the semester.. so gotta make the most out of this time I have left. Will be going home on June 28.. can't wait. :)
